Terms of service

The agreement between you and Graft when you ask for a report or pay for a carry, in plain language.

Last updated: October 28, 2026

These terms are between you, or the organization you act for ("you"), and Civqo, Inc., which provides the Graft service ("Graft", "we"). By requesting a report or paying for a carry, you agree to them.

1. The service

A carry moves your fork's changes from the upstream release it's on to the upstream release you ask for. We build your changes as a patch series, apply them to the new release, use AI agents to rewrite changes that no longer apply, build and test the result, and have a person review it.

2. The free report

Your first report for a fork is free. It is the real carry, run on your fork, built and tested, with a note on every change. Nothing is due for it, and you may keep and use it whether or not you buy anything.

3. Price and payment

A carry costs $990 per fork, per upstream release, unless we agree a different price with you in writing. We send a payment link only after you've had the report and asked for the carried branch. Payment is made through Stripe. Prices are in US dollars and don't include any taxes that apply to you.

4. What a delivery is

A carry is delivered when we give you a branch on the release you asked for, in a repository you choose, or a patch series, where:

  • every one of your changes is carried, dropped with a stated reason, rewritten, or settled by a decision you made;
  • the build and test commands we agreed with you add no failure that the new release doesn't already have; and
  • a person has reviewed every rewrite;

together with a report describing what happened to each change. We aim to deliver within a few business days of payment and will tell you if a carry will take longer.

5. Refunds

If we can't deliver a carry we quoted, you get the full $990 back. If a carry turns out harder than the report showed, we'll tell you as soon as we know and you choose between more time at the same price or a full refund. The details are on the refunds page, which is part of these terms.

6. Your code and access

  • You keep all rights to your code, your changes, and everything we deliver to you. We claim no ownership of any of it.
  • You give us permission to clone and use your code only to run your carry and prepare your report, including sending conflicting files to the AI providers listed in our privacy policy.
  • We need only read access. We never push to your repository unless you ask us to deliver there.
  • You confirm you have the right to give us access to the code you send.
  • We keep your code confidential and delete our working copy as described on the security page.

7. Your part

You review what we deliver before you merge or ship it. You're responsible for your own testing beyond the commands we agreed, and for how you use the delivered code.

8. No other warranty

Our promise is the delivery described in section 4, or your money back under section 5. Apart from that, the report and the delivered code are provided "as is", without any other warranty, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. AI agents and tests can miss problems, which is why we tell you what each change is and why you review it before you merge.

9. Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you for anything relating to a carry is limited to the amount you paid us for that carry. We're not liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost profits, lost data or downtime. Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law doesn't allow us to limit.

10. Ending

You can stop at any point. Before payment, nothing is due. After payment and before delivery, stopping is handled as a refund under section 5. We may decline a request, for example for a very large fork, before you pay.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The version in effect when you paid applies to that carry. The date at the top shows the latest version.
